About NorCal Motocross
Our Story
NorCal Motocross was founded in 2004 out of necessity. Back then, the internet was just starting to take off, and there simply wasn't anywhere to find information about where to ride in Northern California and Nevada. We started as a simple directory - just a list of every place to ride across NorCal and Northern Nevada.
We added a forum, and the community exploded. NorCal Motocross became the largest website dedicated to Northern California motocross riding, with thousands of active members sharing beta on tracks, organizing rides, and building friendships.
Then around 2008, Facebook arrived. Almost overnight, our forums went quiet as riders migrated to social media. We kept the site going for a few years, but by 2013 it was all but dead. Various iterations have existed over the years, but the landscape had changed.
Today's NorCal Motocross is different. We've dropped the forums - people use social media for that now. We've dropped the "Where to Ride" directory - other sites do it better, and sadly, so many tracks have closed down that our section wouldn't be very big anyway.
What we're focusing on now is what we do best: telling stories. Race coverage, gear reviews, rider interviews, training tips, and honest opinions from riders who live and breathe this sport. From the legendary tracks like Hangtown to the grassroots racing scene at MMX and E Street, we're here to document and celebrate the NorCal motocross community.
